In the early 1980s about fifteen Malyalee Orthodox families lived in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale vicinity. They attended the local Episcopal or Catholic churches.

In the summer of 1983, Rev Fr M.T. Kurien visited Mr Abraham's family in Cooper City, who arranged to celebrate Holy Qurbana in his house. Twelve families attender. Fr Kurien encouraged them to conduct prayer meetings regularly every alternate Sunday in their homes.

Rev Fr Dr Joy Pyngolil visited often and celebrated Holy Qurbana with them.

In 1984 the Diocesan Metropolitan, H.G. Thomas Mar Makarios visited and appointed Rev Fr Jony George as the Vicar of the parish. In 1986 Fr Yeshudasan Pappen was appointed Vicar and in 1987 Rev Fr Daniel Chacko took over as Acting Vicar.

He was followed by Rev Fr George John in 1989 who served the parish faithfully for 11 years until 2000.

The services were conducted at the St Nicholas Orthodox Church in Fort Lauderdale. The tenth anniversary was celebrated in 1993 with H.G, Mathews Mar Barnabas presiding over the function.

In 1995 the present building was purchased and services are being held there every Sunday. There are currently 43 families in the parish and the present Vicar is Rev Fr George Daniel serving since 2001. This year (2008) we are celebrating 25 years (Silver Jubilee).
